Wright and Wagner Lofts, formerly a dairy manufacturing space located on the Rock River in Beloit, Wisconsin, is being transformed. The new multi-family facility includes 73 apartments, a rooftop community room and deck, a green roof, recreation room, theater, community chef’s-style kitchen, enclosed parking garage and sales offices. The units range in size from 600 studios to 1500 sq. ft. three-bedroom units. Wright and Wagner Lofts represented a unique opportunity to bring an early 1900’s-era industrial building back to life. Design challenges included overcoming non-aligning floors, and a variety of structural systems and repairs. The design highlights the various building additions over the years, varying brick types, exposed columns and beams, large windows to take advantage of city and river views, and other industrial elements of the building.
