For many years, Marquette University was looking to partner with a local grocery store to provide students and professors with a variety of nutritious food options. The location at 824 N. 16th Street became available, giving Sendik’s Food Market an opportunity to open one of their Fresh2GO concept stores.
The store is located on the first floor of the Marquette Annex complex near the center of the Marquette University campus. Sendik’s chose an interior color palette of white tones, light gray exposed steel structures, white case work and natural materials of white stained wood and concrete. This space is kept bright and inviting for customers by maximizing the use of natural daylighting.
The store features a “grab & go” deli including Paninis, bakery items, plus a selection of wine and takeaway fare including sushi. A hospitality area is featured, where customers can sit and enjoy their food while watching other customers shop. The store offers the students the opportunity to use their Marquette food service program and the store is open 7A – 9P each day.
