Madisen Maher Architects is proud to accept its Historic Restoration Award from the Wisconsin Historical Society for River Place Lofts. MMA of Milwaukee, Wisconsin received the 2017 Historic Restoration Award from the Wisconsin Historical Society for successfully converting the four buildings that comprise River Place Lofts into a 64-unit apartment complex.
These four buildings were originally constructed between 1871 and 1874 for use in the tanning process. Subsequently, the buildings stood vacant for many years and were heavily damaged by fire in 2001. The restoration was completed in 2015.
The award goes to the best restoration work of a Wisconsin historic property that involves comprehensive work to restore a historic building, structure, object or site.
