Madisen Maher Architects (MMA) celebrates client Standard Electric Supply Co.’s groundbreaking ceremony for its new 21,000-square-foot addition at its headquarters in the Menomonee Valley. One of the largest national industrial electrical supply companies, Standard Electric will be doubling its capacity out of their Milwaukee facility. They currently have a workforce of 180 employees in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. Located at 222 N. Emmber Lane in Milwaukee, the company has grown through three generations and will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019.
Madisen Maher Architects’ Sean Maher and Ryan Thomas designed the addition. “We are proud to help Standard Electric transform their office space and double their warehouse capacity. We set out to improve their office environment by increasing the natural daylight, strengthening the connection to the Menomonee River, incorporating collaborative work spaces, conference areas, huddle rooms, and training offices” says Maher, principal. “It has been a good private and public relationship working with the city that has led to remediating contaminated soils and incorporating bio swales to improve water runoff quality.” he adds.
