Professional Summary

As one of the founding partners, along with Erik Madisen, we merged our two firms and launched Madisen Maher Architects in February 2012 with the goal of expanding our practice and guiding the firm to new heights of design excellence. I value my role as facilitator and collaborator on all MMA designs and lead projects from concept to completion.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from
Marquette University I pursued a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and developed a passion for architectural design. I started my career at a well-established design-build firm putting both degrees to good use. I quickly learned the importance of understanding and managing all factors influencing architectural design including other design disciplines, zoning and code requirements, and the project context.

In 2002, I started SLMaher Architectural Group and began establishing concepts about design, client service
and process. I understand everything that is involved in making a project come together, and appreciate the
cooperative nature between architect, client, builder and community. I believe in treating each client with respect and overseeing each project as if it were my own.

The experience accumulated over 20 years in the architecture and design-build fields covers a wide range of
building types including office, restaurant, retail, industrial, manufacturing and residential.  I managed, designed and completed over 140 projects worth over $200 million in construction.

My experience and background includes the following clients and projects:  Bartolotta Corporate Headquarters, Sentry Food Store, Baymont Inn & Suites Hotel, The Rumpus Room Restaurant, Outpost Natural Foods, Starbucks Coffee, Joey Gerard’s Restaurant, Deer Park Buddhist Temple, Pinnacle III-Bishops Woods, Silgan Containers, Ironwood Plastics, State of Illinois, Pivot Point International, Wisconsin Steel and Tube
