MMA congratulates client Sendik’s Food Market at West Milwaukee groundbreaking

Madisen Maher Architects (MMA) congratulated client Sendik’s Food Market at the groundbreaking ceremony for its new 42,000-square-foot store in West Milwaukee. The 4.6-acre site will anchor Whitefish Bay-based Sendik’s Food Market, along with a 16,000 square-foot Goodwill Store and a yet-to-be named sit-down restaurant.

Madisen Maher Architects’ Ryan Thomas designed the anchor store.  “We are excited about our clients’ ability to serve a new area of the city and the community of West Milwaukee,” said Thomas, project manager.  “The store will provide new options for the community to shop at a high-quality, family-owned food market,” he added.

Sendik’s will employ 140 full and part-time employees, and Goodwill will employ 40 to 50 full and part-time employees.  “West Milwaukee is looking forward to the new partnership and is pleased about these additions to Miller Park Way,” said Ronald Hayward, West Milwaukee village president.  “This will cap off 20 years of redevelopment in this thriving corridor.”

About 50 people representing Sendik’s, The Village of West Milwaukee, Madisen Maher Architects, Devo Properties, RA Smith National, Spire Engineering and Hunzinger Construction Company attended the ceremonial groundbreaking on Monday, April 11th.
