Madisen Maher Architects (MMA) provided architectural design and construction support services for Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)’s new office at 757 N. Broadway in Milwaukee. MEDC serves Milwaukee businesses by providing low-interest loans in partnership with a bank, increasing the feasibility of a project. MEDC’s goals included expansion and creation of its own identity.
MEDC sought to build a professional and sustainable environment. MMA worked closely with the interior designers at Rinka Chung using recyclable materials and minimizing energy costs through the use of natural daylight. Details highlight the connection between contrasting components including glass, aluminum, wood and steel. Steel and oak dividers give a measure of privacy yet allow for open communication between offices. The conference area features an overhead door allowing two rooms to be combined for flexibility.
